Head to ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and discover all that this Deep South state has to offer!
No trip to the ‘Deep South’ is complete without a stay in Alabama. From the northern region with its scenic lakes and mountains, to the cities of Birmingham and Montgomery in the central state area, to historic Mobile and the lovely Gulf Beaches in the south, Alabama offers so much to see and do!
Birmingham is the largest city and is known for its role in the Civil Rights Movement. Stroll through historic downtown and visit the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church and the staging ground for protest marches during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
Alabama’s compact capital, Montgomery, designated the USA’s ‘Best Historic City’, dates back to 1861. Explore the First White House of the Confederacy, the Capitol Building, Old Alabama Town and landmarks of the Civil Rights movement.
Head north and you will find one of the more unexpected highlights of Alabama — the awe–inspiring US Space & Rocket Centre in Huntsville. Northern Alabama is also an area of natural beauty with 70% of the Lookout Mountain range lying here.
Southern Alabama is nestled along the beautiful Gulf of Mexico with sugar–sand beaches. You can hike miles of trails, go on a dolphin watching trip, or discover endless waterways via kayak.
