Alaska is a land of magnificence and beauty with more mountains than buildings, more wildlife than people and more glaciers than traffic lights!
Spectacular scenery is synonymous with Alaska so be sure to have your camera ready. The beauty is endless!
Alaska’s national and state parks provide ample opportunities to explore and experience the Last Frontier. A visit to Denali National Park and Preserve and its crown jewel, Denali, is at the top of many Alaska visitors’ ‘must do’ lists.
A cruise is the best way to explore Alaska. Spectacular views, majestic lakes and rivers, towering mountains, glaciers, wildflowers and wildlife are all an exciting part of the Alaska experience. Lofty mountain peaks, ice sculptured fjords, an abundance of marine wildlife and massive tidewater glaciers make the Top 10 list of things to see in Alaska, and glacier cruises are a great way to accomplish that.
Activities abound. From wildlife viewing, sea kayaking, dog mushing and guided glacier hikes to panning for gold, fishing for salmon or marvelling at the views on a flight seeing tour… And don’t forget the Northern Lights which can be seen for an average 240 nights a year from Fairbanks.
Some of our tips for visiting Alaska: Alaska is accessible year round, although we recommend visiting May to October and preferably between July and September. Some of the best flights from the UK are via Seattle, Chicago and Denver. To see the wildlife on land take to the open road and for an amazing view of the glaciers think about pre–booking a day cruise or sightseeing flight. The gateway for a road trip is Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, and the best way to see the coastline is by cruise ship.
